Naan is a traditional Indian bread that is often used as a delicious accompaniment to a curry. The fluffy texture is absolutely perfect for dipping in rich sauces. However, they’re also an incredibly versatile ingredient that you can use in your everyday life with fusion inspiration!

Naan Pizza

Naan is an excellent choice for a quick and delicious pizza, simple use the naan as the pizza crust. Spoon on two tablespoons of pizza sauce over the top of one of your naan and spread evenly. Layer on some cheese and your favourite toppings, then cook on a tray in a 200°C oven for 5 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and the bottom is crisp.

Cheesy Naan

Cheesy Naan is a great way for more flavour in your naan and is just as tasty (or even more so!) than cheesy garlic bread. Rub a piece of garlic on the naan surface for flavour, top with a good quality grated cheddar or a mix of cheddar and mozzarella. Bake in a hot oven 200°C for 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle with chilli flakes and enjoy.

Chilli Cheese Naan

Combining the spice and cheese on a beautiful slice of naan is a great snack. Mix 100g of grated cheddar cheese with two finely chopped green chillies and one egg yolk. Apply this mixture on the surface of a naan. Bake at 200°C for 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is browned and naan is crisp.

Naanwich

If you’re bored of your regular sandwich, a naanwich is a good take on the perfect lunch. If you fold your naan in half it’s a great pocket for filling it. Whether you want a ploughman’s or a ham salad, choose your filling and cut in half to enjoy.

Egg Naan Bread

The classic breakfast choice of eggy bread takes an Indian twist with naan! Break 2 eggs in a bowl, whisk with salt & pepper with 2 tbsps of chopped onion and 2 tbsps of chopped tomato. Heat a frying pan with 2 tbsps of cooking oil, add the egg mixture and spread it on the pan, place a round naan on top of the egg and fry on medium heat till the egg is cooked. From here you can add your favourite toppings such as cooked chicken, ham, or some chillis for heat.

Naan Burrito

Combine together the flavours of Mexico and India with a naan burrito. Using a fresh naan will help roll up your burrito and fold. Place the naan in a warm oven or in a pan on the stovetop over heat for a couple minutes to soften it and make it more pliable. Layer your fillings up, fold in the edges and then roll your burrito like a tortilla.

Naan Nachos

Naan Nachos are a great choice for a party and the ideal way to use up some leftover or stale naans. Cut the naans into bite-sized triangle, place on a baking sheet and cook at 160ËšC until crispy – normally around 10 minutes. Stack up the naans with cheddar and mozzarella and return to the oven to melt the cheese. When removed top with lots of salsa, guacamole, and sour cream for delicious nachos.
