Regional Dishes of Kerala

There are some incredibly tasty dishes that you have to discover from Kerala. Sadya is an absolute must-have in this area. It is a traditional Hindu dish consisting of an array of vegetables served on a banana leaf. Sadya is often served during large festivals within the area and can have up to 28 dishes in one single meal!

A typical breakfast in Kerala is puttu and meen curry. Puttu is rice powder and coconut that is steamed together to create a rice-based cake. This is often served with a fish curry with typical spices such as garlic, mustard, turmeric, chilli powder, ginger, and curry leaves. For vegetarians, a common alternative would be kadala curry. This curry unites chickpeas, shallots, spices, and coconut milk together into a fragrant dish.
