With the cold winter evenings, there’s nothing more comforting and warming than a warm mug of mulled wine. We’ve added some classic Indian spices to our recipe to intensify the aromatics.


750ml Red Wine
4 star anise
1 orange (sliced)
1 lemon (sliced)
50g brown sugar
3 strips of lime rind
2 cinnamon sticks
1 peeled 2cm piece of ginger
4 cloves


  • In a deep saucepan, add all the ingredients
  • Over a slow heat, stir the ingredients together
  • Keep the mulled wine just under simmering level for 15 minutes
  • Don’t let the mixture boil
  • Serve in heatproof glasses and enjoy

Top Tip

Serve your drinks with plenty of garnish including some winter berries
