One Pot Chicken Rice

Simple, convenient and packed with flavour this easy-to-cook one pot chicken rice is bound to become a mid-week family favourite. Ideal for cooking on a budget, this meal serves 4 and comes in at less than a tenner and any left-overs can be packed up and saved for lunch the next day!

Recipe for One Pot Chicken Rice


Kohinoor Karahi sauce – 1 packet 
Cooking oil – 2 tablespoons
Diced chicken – 500 grams 
Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tablespoons 
Kohinoor basmati rice – 250 grams 
Cumin seeds -1/4 tablespoon
Salt – 5 grams
Boiling water – 400 ml



Step 1

Add rice and water to pan and boil until cooked.

Take a heavy pan with lid, heat oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds.
When they crackle, add the diced chicken

Stir fry until the pieces have a light brown colour, add the Kohinoor Karahi sauce, bring to boil.

Add the cooked rice to the pot

Cover with kitchen paper towels and with lid and reduce the heat to very slow. Allow to steam for 10 minutes, open and fork the rice to make it fluffy.

Serve one pot chicken rice hot with a sprinkle of chopped coriander leaves
