Ingredients
140g wholemeal flour
140g plain flour
2 tbsp olive oil
200ml warm water
1 tsp salt
Method
- Sieve together the two flours into a large mixing bowl ensure they’re combined.
- Using a wooden spoon, stir in the olive oil and enough warm water that it forms a soft dough (you might not need to use all the water).
- On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough until its smooth (should be around 5-10 minutes).
- Divide into even pieces (approximately around 10, but depending on how large you would like the chapati, and roll into a ball. Let the balls rest for 5 minutes.
- Heat a frying pan on medium heat and lightly grease.
- Roll out the balls into thin tortilla shapes.
- When the frying pan is hot, put a chapati on and cook for 30 seconds on each side. Continue until all the dough is used up.
