Tofu and Chickpea Coconut Moilee Recipe

This delicious vegan dinner is bursting full of aromatic flavours with a rich and creamy sauce that the tofu soaks up beautifully. Using Kohinoor’s Keralan Moilee cooking sauce takes care of all of the complicated flavours so you can relax in the kitchen.


1 Kohinoor Keralan Moilee Cooking Sauce
1 packet tofu
1 can chickpeas, rinsed
2 large tomatoes, diced
1 onion, sliced
1 tbsp grated ginger
1 tbsp grated garlic
1 tbsp oil
Coriander to serve


  • In a large sauce, heat the oil and fry the onions
  • When the onions are softened, add the grated ginger and garlic
  • Cut the tofu into bitesized chunks and fry for 5 minutes and golden brown
  • Add the chickpeas and tomatoes and stir well
  • Pour in the Moilee Cooking Sauce and simmer for 10 minutes
  • Sprinkle over coriander and serve with Kohinoor’s Basmati Rice
