  • Beef steak cut into strips – 600g
  • Cooking oil – 2tbsp
  • Butter – 60g
  • Large white onion chopped – 1
  • Chopped garlic – 1tbsp
  • Sliced mushrooms – 200g
  • Salt – 1/2tsp
  • Smoked paprika/ paprika – 1/2tsp
  • Sour cream – 100g
  • Chopped coriander leaves – 2tbsp

For Basmati Rice

  • Kohinoor Basmati rice – 200g
  • Butter – 60gms
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Boiling water – 400ml

method

To make the basmati rice, wash and soak the rice in lukewarm water and keep for 30 minutes.

Once ready drain and keep aside. Heat butter in a thick bottom pan, add the soaked rice and lightly mix.

Add salt and boiling water. Allow to cook on medium heat until all the water is absorbed and holes form on the surface of the rice. Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat to very low and allow to steam for 7 minutes.

Open and fork the rice to make it fluffy.

Heat oil and butter in a large frying pan, stir fry the chopped garlic and chopped onion for 4-5 minutes. Add the beef strips and stir fry until light brown in colour, mix in the sliced mushrooms, salt and smoked paprika, cook for 3-4 minutes.

Add the Kohinoor Balti sauce and bring to a boil.

Adjust seasoning to your liking then mix in the sour cream and chopped coriander leaves.

Serve with Kohinoor basmati rice.
